Bank Holidays in March 2025: March is just around the corner, and if you have any important bank-related work, then here’s a big alert for you! Banks will remain closed for a total of 14 days in different states and cities across India.
This includes Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, and several important festivals and regional holidays. To avoid any last-minute trouble, check the complete holiday list and plan your visits accordingly.
Banks Closed for 14 Days – Check Full List
As per the official schedule, banks across India will be closed for five Sundays (2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th March) and two Saturdays (9th and 23rd March). Apart from these, there are several festival holidays.
On 7th March, banks in Aizawl will remain shut due to the Chapchar Kut Festival. Then comes Holi, which will affect banking services on 13th and 14th March in cities like Dehradun, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ranchi, and Thiruvananthapuram. On 15th March, banks in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, and Patna will be closed due to the Yaoshang festival.
Moving further, 27th March marks the holiday for Shab-e-Barat, affecting Jammu and Srinagar. 28th March is Jamat-ul-Vida, and banks in Jammu and Srinagar will again remain closed. Finally, 31st March is Eid-ul-Fitr, leading to a nationwide bank closure.

Even though banks will be closed on these days, you don’t have to worry about financial transactions. Online banking, ATMs, and UPI services will continue to function without any interruption. So, if you need to make urgent payments, you can easily do so using digital banking options.
